Trunch Neighbourhood Plan (TNP)
Why do we need a Neighbourhood Plan?
We have been allocated a target of 37 houses to be built in the next 10 year as part of the Local plan by North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) and this comes from government targets on new house building allocated to NNDC. These houses have to be on new land (not infill) and be next to the Trunch Settlement Boundary. A Neighbourhood Plan gives the village a voice, in what is built, where its built, and how its built. It also produces polices that will steer the future development of the village and the type of houses built even for infill.
Where are we to date?
We have had two consultations with the village that have given us feedback on the plan, and helped us adjust it to better represent the majority views, the second one was yesterday and is still open to feedback until the 18th September. We have 3 policies we are recommending and one potential site for development. Please read the plan for more details as available on this web site.
What’s next?
Once we have all the feedback from the second consultation we will re-write the plan, re-submit for NNDC approval, and then the Government Inspector will review, then finally we will bring it back to the village to have a formal vote, like the election and done via NNDC ) on the plan. After that, and if voted for by the village, the landowner and developers will proceed in line with what is laid out in the plan. If the vote is no, then individuals / developers will continue to make individual applications with the usual inputs. If all goes well we hope the vote will be late this year or early 27.
